AltaJet. YourLife. YourWorld. YourAircraft.
Why Buy Online?
Can I really buy a Business or Personal Aircraft online?
And if I can, why do I still need a Broker or Buyer's Agent - at all?
Yes, you can buy it yourself, and with AltaJet Tools, you can Find the aircraft
that's best for you, anywhere in the world. Once you've Found It, you can Make an Offer, then Get it Inspected. AltaJet will Close the Deal based on your input. All that's left is for you to Fly It Home.
The question is, How much do you want to do?
• Using AltaJet Search Tools, you can create a shortlist of aircraft for sale that meet your specs in less than 10 minutes.
• Using AltaJet Forms, you can create wire transfers and escrow deposits by simply filling in the blanks.
• Using AltaJet Guidance, you can have it inspected and fly it home.
But regardless of how much you do yourself, buying a business or personal jet, turboprop or helicopter is still a
big purchase. Making an Offer through an established agent - professional to professional - will usually result in a lower price
and smoother transaction, more than offsetting AltaJet's nominal fees.

Fees. How, When, and How Much is AltaJet paid for its services?
Buyer pays a Service Fee of 1.5% of the purchase price of the aircraft, from escrow upon successful closing.
Does AltaJet auction aircraft or bid at auctions?
No, and for good reason. Although auctions look like a good way to get a 'deal' on a desperation sell,
they're usually accompanied by high minimum bids. Often, auction frenzy results in artifically high demand
which can actually result in a higher price than the market might normally demand.
So, if auctions aren't the answer, what's the best way to get the best price?
1- Know the market.
2- Know where the private placements are.
Because the best deals are the deals you never hear about. No guarantees, but we can try.
Does AltaJet maintain an inventory?
AltaJet does not maintain an inventory but our offline affiliate holds a small stock of choice aircraft.
We can often direct you to financial institution sales, government agencies and corporations who have lease retirements,
trades, or are downsizing a fleet, all of which can result in attractive savings when handled off-market.
Does AltaJet deal internationally?
Yes. We're fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. We can get by
in German and French. We have Russian resources if you need them. [Let's
be aspirational] Our background in the United States spans 30 years and 2 generations.
We operate regularly throughout Central and South America
and regulary touch Western Europe. We can help you with
• Offshore Registration
• Ownership Structures
• Crew Sourcing
• Ferry and Post Closing Deliveries
anywhere in the world.
Are the fees different for international transactions?
AltaJet's fees are the same, but the savings can be even greater.
Due to the complexities of international sales (especially to and from the United States since 9/11) Sellers are often hesitant
to deal with unknown or inexperienced buyers and adjust their prices upward, accordingly. AltaJet eliminates the doubt and the
hesitancy.
Should I be concerned about buying a foreign aircraft?
Absolutely not. Although most transactions are conducted in US$, differences in the economic climate of different countries or international corporations can often offer 'deals' that might not be available in any given domestic market.
What are the additional requirments if I am
Importing or Exporting
an aircraft?
Requirments vary from country to country. AltaJet can manage the process and often combine these inspections into a single
PrePurchase Inspection which can save considerable time and money.
For United States transactions, you will need an FAA Certificate of Airworthiness.
AltaJet has an in-house Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR) to walk your aircraft through the process.
Who is responsible for the cost of the Export Certificate of Airworthiness for Import-Export?
The Buyer.
What does a Pre-Purchase Inspection involve?
::::: Pat, need copy here. You can provide the copy, or simply direct me to a link describing this type of inspection. There is a link here from the Inspections page for those who need more info.::::: Pat, need copy here. You can provide the copy, or simply direct me to a link describing this type of inspection. Is a PrePurchase Inspection required?
No, not unless the aircraft is being imported or exported. For domestic transactions, the aircraft can be purchased
"As is, where is". Except under very special circumstances, AltaJet strongly recommends an appropriate inspection and can [will, not can?]
work with you to determine the types and scope of inspections best for you.
Who pays for the PrePurchase Inspection?
To avoid conflicts of interest, the Buyer pays for the PrePurchase Inspection. Then, the Seller pays to correct or repair
any airworthiness discrepancies that might be identified. AltaJet has established relationships with [name, type of services]
worldwide and can help you determine the type of inspection best for you. For more information, see
[Inspections, link to come] and List of [bookmark to resources]
Why must I make an Escrow Deposit?
To demonstrate your good faith. Generally speaking, the greater the
escrow deposit, the more seriously the offer is taken. The Seller needs to know that when he says 'yes', the Buyer is ready, willing and able to connsumate the deal. An Escrow Deposit takes the aircraft off the market so that negotiations can begin and the deal be consummated, and allows for pre-purchase inspections, which may determine the amount of the final offer.
How much is my Escrow Deposit?
The 'industry standard' is typically:
Pat, please double check this
| Purchase Price | Amount | ||
| Less than US$ 1M | US$ 25,000 | ||
| US$ 1M - 5M | US$ 50,000 | ||
| More than US$ 5M | US$ 100,000 |
What happens to my Escrow if the Offer isn't accepted?
You can redirect the deposit to apply to a second offer, or you can ask for full and immediate refund.
You're under no obligation unless the deal is consummated.
